©Tobias Ljung 2007This beautiful model was built from my 7mm scale kit byTobias Ljung of Sweden. It represents a coach built under license for the Helsingborg-Råå-Ramlösa Järnväg (HRRJ).
These coaches were originally designed by the Decauville Company as visitor transport around the 1889 Paris Exhibition. Decauville were experts in the construction of temporary and light railways supplying the French military and domestic users with a vast range of equipment for steam, horse and manual propulsion. When the exhibition closed the whole railway system was sold off. Amongst the railways to use the coaches were the Chemins de fer du Calvados, Tramway de La Trinité-sur-mer à Etel, Tramways de Royan etc. The gauge of all these railways and the exhibition was 600mm.
This kit is almost ready and will feature etched-brass underframe and lost-wax seat-ends and compensated bogies. Includes laser-cut floor, roof and wooden footboards and seats. Metal parts are all brass - no whitemetal. The kit includes the characteristic valance of the 1889 Paris Exhibition and Swedish versions.
